"WorldWide Event Misconceptions?"
#PokemonGO: So after reading some Silph Road comments to the event release, I think there may be a few misconceptions that need to be hammered out definitively sooner rather than later to facilitate planning.1) The graphic for the event clearly states challenge windows, but then show the rewards without referencing how they tie into the separate challenge windows. The consensus is that there will be 3 separate time periods, and each one yields the possibility of 1 bonus, which will be the most common type caught during that period. Is that the case? Where does it say we cannot earn multiple bonuses per challenge window? And when does this bonus start? For instance, the second the first challenge ends, will that bonus start showing up worldwide? If not, when would it? There was talk about catching normals first to capitalize on increase spawns for subsequent challenges and for the worldwide challenge, but if this reward won't start until later, like in phase 3, will that even matter? Also, consider how the timing of these may effect phase 3's challenge...(more on that later)2) When do the people worldwide need to catch pokemon, and do they also have 3 separate challenge windows, or just 1 big window from 10-7pm CDT, as indicated on the top of the graphic? In other words, does it matter if we all (worldwide) show up to catch during all 3 Chicago challenge windows and get 100 pokes in each vs if we show up and catch 300 all at once? And do catches from 330-6pm CDT worldwide count toward that? The reason I ask (aside from the graphic being a bit confusing), is why would the start time up top read 10am CDT if the 1st window doesn't start until 11am CDT?3) The Gold tier reward for phase 1 worldwide is mystery challenge unlocked (in Chicago). Does this mean in addition to the silver reward of +48 hour bonus duration, or does the gold reward take the place of that? If it is in addition as most have assumed, does that mean earning the silver reward (+48 hours) also stacks with the bronze reward (+24 hours) for a total of 72 hours?4) Are the phase 1 rewards concurrent? For instance, is there a possibility we can earn increased spawns + increased stardust + increased xp all at the same time? Or would they be sequential rewards, 48 hours at a time? Obviously, different combinations of these can have major, major synergistic effects (such as the combo described above). Also, imagine decreased buddy + egg distance, plus double candy. You could essentially earn 4 or 8 times buddy & candy depending on how they implement it. I doubt that combo would win out, but still, it's worth figuring out the exact rules before we all clamor for which rewards we want. What if we discover that the rewards go into worldwide effect during phase 3? Would you change your prioritization? I KNOW I WOULD!!! Double candy during the same period of time Legendary raids are occuring??? Sign me up. If you're able to catch a legendary, then immediately level it up a bunch, it could make subsequent raids infinitely easier!5) July 23rd - 24th is the challenge window for phase 3, does that mean it ends at 0000 July 24th, or 0000 July 25th?This may seem unnecessary, but understand for players such as myself that have never even seen another person in a raid lobby, and with the assumption that the global reward is legendary raids, a large amount of planning will be required to even have a shot at completing such a raid, and that needs to start now. Whether it requires travel to a major city, or just coordination of enough local closet PoGo players, it'd be nice to know a definitive timeframe and set of rules before this thing is underway and it's essentially too late to plan.EDIT: Clarified question 1 a bit as far as possibility of multiple rewards per challenge window.EDIT 2: 10am is when gates open at Grant Park for event, which may explain that part of the graphic.EDIT 3: To further clarify my confusion on the timing of the worldwide challenge, an excerpt from the graphic: "Achieve gold tier in Phase 1's worldwide Catch Challenge to...". To me, that implies there is one single worldwide catch challenge. Otherwise, they would have said, "Achieve gold tier in any one/all of Phase 1's worldwide Catch Challenges to...". via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2uRV1pN
