"Gen 3 Predictions: Move Sets of Fully Evolved Pokemon (Swellow - Exploud)"

#PokemonGO: Hi and welcome back to Gen 3 Predictions. These are a weekly post to promote discussion about potential movesets for Generation 3 Pokemon. You can find links to the other posts below.Sceptile to ShiftryPurposeOne of the big changes that came with generation 2 was a move set reshuffle. New moves were added, most older moves were adjusted and re-balanced, and older Pokemon had their learn-able moves change. I decided to take a look at Generation 3 Pokemon and see if I could predict what might be in store whenever generation 3 launches. Something to keep in mind is that moves as we know them will change so for example, Fire Spin/Overheat may no longer be an amazing move set and Heat Wave could become the Outrage of Fire and now reigns king. One thing to note, I am disregarding wildly out of place moves (such as Solar Beam Typhlosion or Fire Blast Slowking). While I am sure they will happen, I see no point trying to predict them.MovesHere I will include a list of new moves I am predicting we might see with Generation 3. You will see these moves throughout my posts. I will not guess the DPS or damage of them, just that they will make an appearance. This will only update to reflect moves I plan to cover in the current post or have been covered in previous posts.MoveTypeStyleAbsorbGrassQuickBlaze KickFireChargeDisarming VoiceFairyQuick (Was Charge)FacadeNormalCharge*Muddy WaterWaterChargePursuitDarkQuickSky UppercutFightingChargeSlashNormalCharge*Not fully committed to the idea that it will be introducedSwellow - Normal/Flying - Max CP: 1747Attack: 185Defense: 130Stamina: 120Predicted MovesQuick Moves:Wing Attack/Air Slash: I fully expect Swellow to receive one of these two moves as it's Flying type quick move. Peck is another option but a little less likely.Steel Wing: This was an early game TM in generation 3 and Swellow is one of the first flying types you could find that could learn it. Add that with the fact that Niantic loves to give almost every flying steel wing and it is all but a certainty that Swellow will receive this move.Charge Moves:Aerial Ace: This is one of the classic moves associate with Swellow and seems to be a favorite for Pokemon Go Flying types.Brave Bird: The only other Flying charge move that Swellow learns naturally. Much like Pidgeot, I expect Swellow to have multiple Flying type charge moves. Could also be Sky Attack.Facade: This is a new move and it is one of yet another move that originated with Generation 3. This move was often known by Swellows in the game despite Swellow not learning it through leveling.Current Available MovesQuick Moves:Air Slash, Counter, Hidden Power, Mud-Slap, Peck, Quick Attack, Steel Wing, Wing AttackCharge Moves:Aerial Ace, Air Cutter, Brave Bird, Heat Wave, Hyper Beam, Ominous Wind, Sky Attack, Swift, TwisterPelipper - Water/Flying - Max CP: 1969Attack: 175Defense: 189Stamina: 120Predicted MovesQuick Moves:Air Slash/Wing Attack: Like Swellow, I think Pelipper will recieve one of these but I expect it to be different from the move Swellow learns.Water Gun: While Steel Wing is a pretty common fast move for flying types, I believe that Pelipper will be cover his second typing with his other fast move.Charge Moves:Water Pulse: Unlike many Water type Pokemon, Pelipper actually learns Water Pulse naturally through leveling, I fully expect Pelipper to receive this move.Hurricane: The only possible flying charge move that Pelipper learns through leveling which leads me to believe that there is a very good chance that Pelipper will have this move.Twister: While Pelipper can learn moves like Hydro Pump and Blizzard, I think it more likely that Pelipper will get the flying themed Dragon move.Current Available MovesQuick Moves:Air Slash, Hidden Power, Mud-Slap, Quick Attack, Steel Wing, Water Gun, Wing AttackCharge Moves:Aerial Ace, Air Cutter, Blizzard, Brine, Gunk Shot, Hurricane, Hydro Pump, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Icy Wind, Ominous Wind, Scald*, Seed Bomb, Shock Wave, *Sky Attack, Swift, Twister, Water PulseGardevoir - Psychic/Fairy - Max CP: 2964Attack: 237Defense: 220Stamina: 136Predicted MovesQuick Moves:Confusion: The classic early level Psychic move of many a Psychic type. I am confident that Gardevoir will receive Confusion as it's Psychic type quick move.Disarming Voice: While Niantic has not done it yet before, I fully believe that they will make one of the current Fairy type moves into a fast move. The top two options are Disarming Voice and Draining Kiss and I think Disarming Voice is the more likely culprit.Charge Moves:Moonblast: Moonblast is not as common as the other strong Fairy type charge move Dazzling Gleam but Moonblast is naturally learned by Gardevoir and, in my opinion, more likely to become Gardevoir's charge move.Future Sight: While both Future Sight and Psychic are naturally learned by Gardevoir, I believe that Future Sight will be the more likely choice for Gardevoir.Shadow Ball: This is a hard one to choose. Realistically Gardevoir could get a second Psychic or Fairy type move, or it could be Focus Blast but with all that in mind, I think Shadow Ball is the likely winner for Gardevoir's third slot. The main reasoning is that Shadow Ball is a good counter to the new mono-Ghost types introduced in Generation 3.Current Available MovesQuick Moves:Charge Beam, Confusion, Hidden Power, Mud-Slap, Zen HeadbuttCharge Moves:Body Slam, Dazzling Gleam, Disarming Voice, Draining Kiss, Energy Ball, Fire Punch, Focus Blast, Future Sight, Grass Knot, Hyper Beam, Ice Punch, Icy Wind, Moonblast, Psychic, Psyshock, Shadow Ball, Shadow Sneak, Signal Beam, Swift, Thunderbolt, Thunder PunchMasquerain - Bug/Flying - Max CP: 2135Attack: 192Defense: 161Stamina: 140Predicted MovesQuick Moves:Air Slash: The only Flying Quick move that Masquerain learns naturally.Bubble: Funnily enough, Masquerain does not naturally learn any Bug type Quick moves. Surskit however is often associated with Bubble since it is a Bug/Water type that evolves into a Bug/Flying.Charge Moves:Air Cutter: The only Flying type Charge move that Masquerain learns naturally.Bug Buzz: While Masquerain learns both Silver Wind and Bug Buzz, Bug Buzz is the more common move for your average Masquerain to know in the original games.Ominous Wind: This is a kind of strange move here except that Masquerain can actually learn this through the use of a Heart Scale in the main games. For those of you unfamiliar, it is a move that Masquerain would theoretically learn naturally if you could find a level 1 Masquerain.Current Available MovesQuick Moves:Air Slash, Bubble, Bug Bite, Hidden Power, Infestation, Mud Shot, Mud-Slap, Quick Attack, Struggle BugCharge Moves:Aerial Ace, Air Cutter, Aqua Jet, Blizzard, Bubble Beam, Bug Buzz, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Hydro Pump, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Icy Wind, Ominous Wind, Psybeam, Scald, Shadow Ball, Signal Beam, Silver Wind, Solar Beam, Swift, Twister, Water PulseBreloom - Grass/Fighting - Max CP: 2407Attack: 241Defense: 153Stamina: 120Predicted MovesQuick Moves:Bullet Seed: The only weak Grass move that Breloom can learn naturally is Absorb and that didn't seem nearly as fitting as Bullet Seed, especially when Bullet Seed was originally a TM that you got right around the same time as Shroomish.Counter: Breloom, like many Fighting types, learns Counter normally but hardly used it in the original games. Counter seems to be Niantic's new favorite Fighting Quick move so unless they introduce Mach Punch, I forsee Breloom getting the Counter treatment.Charge Moves:Seed Bomb: The only major Grass move that Breloom ever really used. Also one that Breloom learns naturally.Sky Uppercut: Blaziken will not be the only Pokemon to receive the new move Sky Uppercut. I fully expect to see Breloom rocking the new Fighting type Charge move.Dynamic Punch: Other than Sky Uppercut, Dynamic Punch is the other high damage Fighting type move that Breloom learns in the original games. It seems fitting for it to receive it in Pokemon Go as well.Current Available MovesQuick Moves:Bullet Seed, Counter, Cut, Fury Cutter, Hidden Power, Iron Tail, Mud-Slap, Rock Smash, TackleCharge Moves:Body Slam, Brick Break, Dynamic Punch, Energy Ball, Focus Blast, Giga Drain, Grass Knot, Hyper Beam, Low Sweep, Mega Drain, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb, Seed Bomb, Sludge Bomb, Solar Beam, Stone Edge, Thunder PunchSlaking - Normal - Max CP: 5441Attack: 319Defense: 201Stamina: 300Predicted MovesQuick Moves:Scratch: While Slaking is a big ? and no one knows how Niantic will handle Slaking, I will go about the move guessing in the same manner. Slaking only learns three current Quick moves naturally and I think they are two of the three are very likely. Scratch is one of those. If they decide to move away from moves naturally learned, then Rock Smash is a good option.Feint Attack: This is the other Quick move that Slaking learns naturally that I think is a very likely choice. Counter is the last option.Charge Moves:Facade: This is a commonly associated move with Slaking, probably thanks to Norman, the 5th gym leader (who has two Slakings) and who is also the protagonist's father in generation 3. This is a new move.Hyper Beam: Kind of like Snorlax, Hyper Beam is a classic move for all normal types. Even though Slaking being a physical attacker in the main games, I think this is a good option. I don't forsee Giga Impact being introduced until later generations at which point it will most likely replace Hyper Beam at that point.Earthquake: Unless Hammer Arm/Focus Punch/Chip Away or some other move is introduced in this generation, I think it very likely that Slaking will get the Snorlax treatment of Earthquake.Current Available MovesQuick Moves:Counter, Cut, Feint Attack, Fury Cutter, Hidden Power, Low Kick, Mud-Slap, Rock Smash, Scratch, Shadow Claw, Sucker PunchCharge Moves:Aerial Ace, Blizzard, Body Slam, Brick Break, Bulldoze, Dynamic Punch, Earthquake, Fire Blast, Fire Punch, Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Gunk Shot, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Ice Punch, Icy Wind, Low Sweep, Night Slash, Play Rough, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb, Shadow Ball, Solar Beam, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Thunder Punch, Water PulseNinjask - Bug/Flying - Max CP: 1790Attack: 199Defense: 116Stamina: 122Predicted MovesQuick Moves:Fury Cutter: The classic move of Nincada and most likely to be the Bug Quick move of both Ninjask and Shedinja.Metal Claw: Unless they opt to give Ninjask two Bug Quick moves, I believe that Metal Claw is a pretty likely option for Ninjask. It is another move inherited from Nincada.Charge Moves:X-Scissor: The only Bug type Chrage move that Ninjask learns naturally.Aerial Ace: One of the more common options for a Ninjask to learn since it does not learn any Flying moves naturally.Slash: This would be a new move for this generation. It is original to generation one however there are beginning to be plenty of Pokemon who would make good use of it.Current Available MovesQuick Moves:Bug Bite, Cut, Feint Attack, Fury Cutter, Hidden Power, Metal Claw, Mud-Slap, Scratch, Struggle BugCharge Moves:Aerial Ace, Bug Buzz, Dig, Giga Drain, Hyper Beam, Night Slash, Ominous Wind, Shadow Ball, Silver Wind, Solar Beam, Swift, X-ScissorShedinja - Bug/Ghost - Max CP: 421Attack: 153Defense: 80Stamina: 2Predicted MovesQuick Moves:Fury Cutter: Like Slaking, Shedinja is very dependent on an ability and like Slaking I will ignore that in the name of looking at possible move sets. As for why Fury Cutter, it's the same reasoning as Ninjask.Shadow Claw: The only Ghost Quick move that Shedinja can learn and a pretty common move for Shedinja even though it is not learned naturally.Charge Moves:X-Scissor: I expect Ninjask and Shedinja's movesets to almost mirror one another. This is the main bug move of Shedinja.Shadow Sneak: Unless Phantom Force is introduced (which I doubt, it'll most likely be held for a later generation) I believe that Shadow Sneak is the most likely Ghost Charge move for Shedinja.Slash: To continue the near mirroring of Ninjask.Current Available MovesQuick Moves:Bug Bite, Cut, Feint Attack, Fury Cutter, Hidden Power, Metal Claw, Mud-Slap, Scratch, Shadow Claw, Struggle Bug, Sucker PunchCharge Moves:Aerial Ace, Bug Buzz, Dig, Giga Drain, Hyper Beam, Night Slash, Shadow Ball, Shadow Sneak, Silver Wind, Solar Beam, X-ScissorExploud - Normal - Max CP: 2267Attack: 179Defense: 142Stamina: 208Predicted MovesQuick Moves:Bite: What do you expect from something with a mouth so big? A very common move for the Loudred line and a very likely Pokemon Go candidate.Pound: I am giving Exploud the benefit of the doubt of having one STAB Quick move but it may very well end up getting Astonish instead. Both Astonish and Pound are naturally learned and very likely.Charge Moves:Crunch: This is the first move an Exploud learns when it evolved from a Loudred and thus a very likely candidate for Pokemon Go.Hyper Beam: The penultimate move of Exploud and the last move that Exploud learns through leveling. A very likely candidate.Stomp: A common move for Explouds and my best guess for the third slot unless they introduce Hyper Voice.Current Available MovesQuick Moves:Astonish, Bite, Counter, Extrasensory, Fire Fang, Hidden Power, Low Kick, Mud-Slap, Pound, Rock Smash, Zen HeadbuttCharge Moves:Avalanche, Blizzard, Body Slam, Brick Break, Bulldoze, Crunch, Disarming Voice, Dynamic Punch, Earthquake, Fire Blast, Fire Punch, Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Ice Punch, Icy Wnid, Outrage, Overheat, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb, Shadow Ball, Solar Beam, Stomp, Thunder Punch, Water Pulse via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2uteeS3
