"[Discussion] Any hoarders out there like me in serious need of a Pokémon Storage upgrade to beyond 1000?"

#PokemonGO: Taking the full Gen I-II into account, there are a total of 251 Pokémon.Without taking into account what is out and what is not:For Gen I:126 with gender (both male and female exist).12 with single gender (either male or female only).13 genderless. For Gen II:87 with gender (both male and female exist).5 with single gender (either male or female only).8 genderless. For collectors, that is a total of (126x2)+12+13+(87x2)+5+8 = 464.If you add the different variations of Unown, then you will have a total of 464+25 = 489.Now imagine the inclusion of all the Shiny Pokémon, which would make the total 489x2 = 978.With that we will have a mere 22 empty space for buffer, which everyone knows is not enough because we will definitely not have a single Pokémon of each species, whether we are keeping more for sentimental values or just for the meta of the game. Now, back to reality, let's work out the actual numbers. Those not in game yet are only Mew, Delibird, Smeargle, Ho-Oh & Celebi, meaning a total of 1+2+2+1+1 = 7.Additionally, the below are also in game:7 Special (Santa Hat Pikachu & Raichu (male only), Party Hat Pikachu & Raichu, Ash Hat Pichu, Pikachu & Raichu).5 Shiny (Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu, Magikarp, Gyarados). These extras account for a total of 2+(2x2)+(3x2)+(5x2) = 22.So total in game as of today is 489-7+22 = 504.Technically, that is only around half of the max storage needed, but again, we are in reality now, whereby people have multiple Dragonite, Tyranitar, Blissey, Snorlax, and so on and so forth, as well as the Legendary Pokémon, meaning we would have to estimate how much these make up.For example, let's say everyone has 4 extra (beside the ones already counted for) of 50 of the 251 Pokémon (Dragonite, Tyranitar, Blissey, Snorlax, etc.), which is more or less the numbers of rarer Pokémon including most of the three stage evolution Pokémon. Note: Why 4? Because if you already have two Tyranitar, a male and a female, another 4 would make you have a team of 6. Another way to look at it, some people just wanna have 6 Machamp to fight a Tyranitar raid. Again, just an estimation.Add on around 10 extra for each of the regional Pokémon, for those who travel the world and keep multiple of each in preparation for trading, to those who did not have the opportunity to go abroad. Yes, I have faith, trading will come eventually.Plus another 100 reserved for mass evolution with Lucky Egg.A rough estimation like this would put us at 504+200+60+100 = 864.While you may think the Pokémon Storage is sufficient through first glance at this number, we are actually nowhere near enough to support the non released Pokémon and also all the Shiny versions. I have seen so many posts asking for all Shiny Pokémon to be released and for Gen III to be rolled out, but wouldn't it make much more sense to first have an upgrade to the Pokémon Storage? What do you guys think? What would be the best direction for Niantic to take in your opinion?TL;DR: Ideally, we need almost 1000 space to cater for all Gen I-II Pokémon including all the different genders and also Shiny. Realistically, with whatever that is out, taking into account the meta where you will have multiple of certain Pokémon, we are also nearing the max space, definitely not enough to cater for future big releases (like Gen III). In conclusion, we want more Pokémon Storage space.Note: If somehow I made some miscalculation, please do correct me. :)Edit: Adjusted formatting and included tl;dr. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2wsWJR8
