"How every ability could work in PoGo: Bulbasaur-Dugtrio"

#PokemonGO: Frequently, when gen 3 is discussed, so are abilities as abilities are integral to the balance of many Pokemon in the gen. But many argue that adding abilities would be way too much as it would require a speed stat, status effects, stat changes, etc. I propose a looser adaptation of every ability. This list proposes my ideas for the abilities possessed by the first 51 Pokemon. There is also the matter of hidden abilities to attend to. In the core series games, HAs were only obtainable through events, breeding, the Entree Forest, Hidden Grottos, Horde Encounters, or SOS battles. I propose the Pokemon from eggs and Raid Bosses have a 10% chance of having an HA. Additionally, Pokemon from nests could have a small chance of having an HA. This fits with the idea of hordes and specific locations. To work, my ability suggestions would require stat changes. I believe this is entirely possible because Ditto already changes its base Attack and Defense but not Stamina when it enters battle, indicating to me that Niantic is perfectly capable of having Pokemon's base stats temporarily change mid-battle. They would also require Pokemon's moves to change based on external factors (not mid-battle) to have different animation times and or base damage. Lastly, it would require that Pokemon with different abilities have their type effectiveness interactions directly modified.Overgrow: This Pokemon's Grass type moves do 10% more damage.Chlorophyll: This Pokemon's Grass type moves have their animation time and energy gain reduced by 50%.Thick Fat: This Pokemon gains +1 resistance to Fire and Ice.Blaze: This Pokemon's Fire type moves do 10% more damage.Solar Power: If this Pokemon is in the same party or gym as a Grass type Pokemon, its base HP is reduced by 10% but its base Attack is increased by 15%.Tough Claws: This Pokemon's moves that have "Claw" in their name do 20% more damage.Drought: This Pokemon gains +1 resistance to Water attacks.Torrent: This Pokemon's Water type moves do 10% more damage.Rain Dish: If this Pokemon is in the same gym as a Pokemon with Drizzle, its motivation decay is halved.Shield Dust: This Pokemon takes no additional damage from moves boosted by abilities.Run Away: This Pokemon automatically leaves the gym if its motivation drops below half.Compound Eyes: Dodging this Pokemon's moves only reduces damage by 50%.Tinted Lens: This Pokemon's Super Effective Multiplier is increased to 60%.Swarm: This Pokemon's Bug type moves do 10% more damage.Adaptability: This Pokemon's STAB Multiplier is increased to 40%.Keen Eye: This Pokemon's STAB attacks can't be dodged.Tangled Feet: While this Pokemon is buddied, is has a 50% chance to unearth a hidden Caterpie or Weedle every time it finds a candy. This spawn is individual to the player.Big Pecks: This Pokemon takes only 20% more damage from Super Effective attacks. No Guard: This Pokemon and its opponent have their base Defense reduced to 0. The effect wears off of the opponent if this Pokemon switches out.Guts: This Pokemon's base Attack is increased by 50% when below 50% motivation.Hustle: This Pokemon's attacks have their animation time and energy gain reduced by 25%.Sniper: This Pokemon's quick moves cannot be dodged.Intimidate: When this Pokemon switches in, its opponent has its base Attack reduced by 20%.Shed Skin: When this Pokemon is buddied, it sheds its skin every time it finds a candy. Multiple instances do not stack.Unaware: When this Pokemon's stats are increased by the ability of an ally, the effect is doubled.Flash Fire: This Pokemon gains +1 resistance to Fire attacks.Competitive: When this Pokemon attacks a rival gym, XP and badge XP gained are doubled.Frisk: When buddied, this Pokemon frisks Pokestops and Gyms for one additional item per spin.Inner Focus: This Pokemon loses 25% less motivation when defeated. (Takes one more battle, usually)Infiltrator: When it switches in, this Pokemon's base Attack is increased by 20% of the base Defense of its opponent.Stench: Every time this Pokemon finds a candy while buddied, it has a 10% chance to spawn a random Poison type Pokemon. The spawn is individual to each player.Effect Spore: When this Pokemon is KOd, the Pokemon that KOd it loses 50% of its current HP.Healer: When this Pokemon is fed a berry at a gym, the effect is doubled and evenly split among each Pokemon. The feeder only receives the usual stardust count, but has the chance at a candy multiplied by the number of Pokemon in the gym. The candy can be for any of them.Dry Skin: This Pokemon gains +1 resistance to Water and +1 weakness to Fire.Damp: This Pokemon gains +1 resistance to Nomal.Wonder Skin: Dodging with this Pokemon reduces damage by 90%.Arena Trap: This Pokemon's opponent cannot switch out for the remainder of the battle unless the battle if forfeited or the opponent is KOd.Sand Force: This Pokemon's Rock, Steel, and Ground type moves are boosted by 10%.TLDR: Abilities can work with modifications to type effectiveness, move animation time, and base stats. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2hqewU2
