"[Idea] The Stardust Solstice Event is Awesome, but it puts a Band-Aid over an 8-inch cut"

#PokemonGO: With the summer full of legendary raids (and just prior, the gym update and raids in general), we now have much greater access to powerful Pokémon like Tyranitar (5 out of my 6 are from raids) Rhydon (2 out of 3) Gengar (2 out of 4) and Machamp (3 out of 4).And with the introduction of Rare Candies, we have means to power up rare-to-hatch Pokémon like Blissey, Ampharos, or the Legendary birds/beasts.The natural and unintended consequence of this is a deficit of stardust for many players, since candy and Pokémon access are no longer limiting factors. So, while it's important to avoid "power creep" so common in most MMOs...I think some small step has to be taken to mitigate this.I would suggest something small. Nothing like YOU CAN NOW PURCHASE 100K STARDUST FOR $10.00 USD. That's stupid.I'd like to see berry feeding rewards increase to 50 stardust per berry. It's more than double the current reward, but here's a few points that might persuade you:First, it isn't being done much now. In my experience, in speaking with others in my community, people will feed berries to get the medal; then, it drops to basically zero. People would rather drop Pinaps on Pidgeys (regular Razz the more stubborn guys like Swinub) or Nanab raid bosses. There is no proper incentive for people to dump berries as the game now sits.Second, the chance for candy is not sufficient incentive, either. I have fed 1,100 berries and have received 3 candies. 1 for more than 300? I'm fairly certain it is overwhelmingly more productive to go walking: that way you are catching stuff AND working on your eggs.Third, the berry feeding rewards do not match the effort required. While the gym screen issues (tapping on Snorlax, but you are sent to Espeon, and so forth) are sort of a moot point as they can be fixed irrespective of this question, they do throw a wrench in things. Additionally, the spinning icon, lag, and Pokémon becoming 'full' make this process way more complicated than is worth it. Kick up the reward a bit and you'll see more people willing to engage in the activity.Fourth, players more likely to feel the drought of stardust (those who have raided frequently and have many powerful Pokémon to power up) have likely spent a great deal of money on Raid Passes and other items; increasing the reward for berry feeding would properly reward the hard work of raiding often.Fifth, an uptick in berry feeding would not upset the gym economy enough to matter. With diminishing returns and a small CP hike anyway, the attacker has a much greater advantage in the race against the berry. Very few players (again, my experience in my community) drop Golden Razzes in gyms unless they really want to hold onto it for control bonus in an upcoming raid. But that is a scramble no matter what. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2xrlnAE
