"Many cities have grass roots Pokemon Go groups and events. It would be great if Niantic could engage with these volunteer community builders."

#PokemonGO: Here in our city we have a couple dedicated trainers (/u/avalai, /u/sacrosaint) who have put in a lot of effort toward building a community for Pokemon Go.Within a very short time after launch there was a dedicated website; http://ift.tt/2jsS39E a subreddit /r/PokemonGoOttawa, a discord server, and a monthly event, called "Third Saturday". The next edition being this weekend(see website). This is held in our city's arboretum which is a beautiful park that is full of gyms, stops and two nests (Magikarp and Ryhorn right now).I know we are not in a unique situation, as I have seen posts here about many organic groups organizing their own events. It would be a great step from Niantic community management to engage with these groups to build relationships beyond corporate sponsorships. Even possibly help roll out EX raids to the rest of the world. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2x4p5S5
