"[Question] [Discussion] Why should I bother with raids?"
#PokemonGO: Why should I bother with raids? This may as well be a rhetorical question for Niantic. I don't have a group of friends or family members to raid with. I don't use external message apps. I have to drive 30 minutes for closest gyms. I don't get into town much.I was sick for the first two weeks of the Legendary Beast raids. Last weekend I happened to see (Gymhunter) 3 legendary raids going off in the same park, while still sick I made the effort to get there. I had to walk a few hundred meters between them. I was not feeling well after the first trek to see if any mobile using groups were nearby. I decided to camp at one that was closest to my car. The park was full of people, 2pm on a Saturday. How many of those raids did I compete in? Zero. I saw nobody I could identify as a player and saw no activity in lobby count. Of course lobby count only works if you with range of gym. This Sunday I went from one legendary Raid to another, from when the egg hatched and stayed until timer finished. Spent six hours out for a game of waiting and saw many people but no one for the raids. Raid count for the day, one level one raid. Nick would be so proud.I write this as today I was again looking over the Gym Hunter map, of which Niantic disapprove of, looking to see what raids would be in areas that would be likely to attract players and realized I've already tried that approach. So I ask, why bother?I'm not a whale Niantic can milk money from and I'm not a person that can just summon a raid group with a tweet. I was optimistic thinking a mobile "game" was for the player and not for the bank. I know they have plans but is their road map for players or accountants? Until something changes this "Pokemon Go Beta" is for people throwing money at Niantic for crumbs of nostalgia. Why should I bother with this game? via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2xcaYc4
