"Regarding the Cosmog event in Sun & Moon, and what it could mean for Solgaleo/Lunala"

I'm unsure if this theory has been discussed before, but it's one that I thought of quite a long time ago and figured I should make a post before USUM comes out. If it's old news let me know.In Sun and Moon, after defeating the Elite Four and becoming Champion we are able to access an "Alternate Dimension" at the Altar of the Sunne/Moone. Given that day/night is reversed, as well as the nature of the altar, it's implied that the Alternate Dimension is essentially the counterpart to whichever version of the game we have. (The same wild pokemon and Cosmog only evolving into your cover legendary are most likely to keep game exclusives). It's also highly likely that there is an Alternate Dimension version of you that does the exact same progression as you, and that the two 'you's cross over at the same time such that nothing "changes" between dimensions (the same pokemon are caught, same conversations, etc). This also explains why you never run into the Alternate Dimension version of yourself. Of course, there is an alternate Lillie, Hau, Lusamine, Gladion, and... an alternate Nebby.During the Cosmog event, you bring your Nebby to the Altar and meet its counterpart - Solgaleo in Moon and Lunala in Sun. Is it not highly likely that that is the Nebby of the Alternate Dimension, who is at the other side's Altar with the Alternate you? And their union create a Cosmog, who pops into existence into both your and the Alternate Dimension. Given Solgaleo/Lunala's unique power to cross dimensions, it stands to reason that they can interact with 'themselves' across dimensions to the point of reproduction. If this is true, it implies that all Solgaleo/Lunala are pairs that exist as alternate versions of the same Cosmog, and that each Cosmog produced is a pure descendant of an identical pair. Genetically speaking, it would be essentially the same as cloning oneself; thus (assuming this is the only line of these legendaries) all generations of Cosmog and evolutions come from a singular lineage dating back to the very first one, all of whom are exactly identical. One Cosmog (in 2 dimensions) > Solgaleo or Lunala on either side > 'reunite' > One Cosmog (in each dimension) > Solgaleo or Lunala on either side > rinse & repeat for thousands of years. For further thought, even when you have multiple Solgaleo/Lunala, they cannot produce a Cosmog event despite meeting the same requirements. This could imply that 'Nebby', which we call the current member of the Cosmog lineage, can only produce offspring with 'itself' from another dimension - a convoluted sort of asexual reproduction. It could also imply that the Cosmogs in one person's game is not the same lineage as the Cosmogs in another; implying that a different Cosmog line exists for each 'set of dimensions' (being the games that a given person owns).I kinda got off track at the end there, but I'd love to hear peoples' thoughts.TLDR: Nebby has sex with itself, just like the Solgaleo/Lunala that produced it and every pair before them, so the Space legendaries are just one line of thoroughbred puffballs. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2wDkXWG
