"Ultra Recon Squad's names are based off of seaweed"

Saw this in an another discussion, but I was super confused by the weird names of the Ultra Recon Squad until I saw this comment thread where they said that the new Recon Squad were based off of seaweed, and I wanted to verify their claims.Without further ado:Dulse - based off Dulse Seaweed, scientific name is Palmaria palmate.Soliera - named after Solieria chordalis, which is commonly known as Solier's Red String Weed. Also note that Soliera of course contains the word 'Sol' in her name, the Latin word for ‘Sun’Phyco - literally comes from 'phyco' which means related to seaweed (phycology)Zossie is a fun take on Zostera marina. Zostera marina is a type of seagrass, not algae though. Other possibilities for Zossie:an obscure species of algae called Rivularia ZosteraeMejiro, scientific name Zosterops japonicusa, a bird from Japan that was introduced onto Hawaii in 1937. It is an invasive species. This one is a bit of a stretch though but wanted to include it for safety's sake.Someone pointed out in the comment thread that there are invasive species of algae in Hawaii but I could not find a correlation between the 4 Recon Squad members and the invasive seaweed species listed on the Hawaii's website.edit: change of name. Soliera appears in Ultra Moon not Ultra Sun via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2xkGQ1o
