"54 "caught" Suicune (or Starmie, or Porygon/Porygon2, or Togepi/Togetic, or Unown) are needed on average for a complete collection of all 16 Hidden Power types"
#PokemonGO: TL;DR: to get all Hidden Power types, 54 successful catches are needed on average.Assume you want to collect all Hidden Power types (all types but Normal and Fairy which don't exist). To get a new Hidden Power type, on average 16/N catches are needed, where N is the number of Hidden Power types still missing to the collection. So the total number of catches needed for a complete collection is 16/16 + 16/15 + 16/14 + 16/13 + 16/12 + 16/11 + 16/10 + 16/9 + 16/8 + 16/7 + 16/6 + 16/5 + 16/4 + 16/3 + 16/2 + 16/1.In numbers, it's 1 + 1.07 + 1.14 + 1.23 + 1.33 + 1.45 + 1.6 + 1.78 + 2 + 2.29 + 2.67 + 3.2 + 4 + 5.33 + 8 + 16 = 54.09 average catches. This is of course an average, because in theory it's possible to get all Hidden Power types with just 16 very lucky catches, or to never get a specific type after thousands of moderately unlucky catches. In practice I wouldn't be surprised by numbers between 30 and 80.Fun fact: the first ~25 catches are responsible for the first 13 Hidden Power types, while getting the last 3 requires ~29 additional catches. So if you have 13 unique Hidden Power types in your collection, you are only at 46% of your quest. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2zvlLC2
