"Ex raid 11/11 observations - only casuals invited in a city of hardcore players"

#PokemonGO: I just wanted to share some observations from an ex raid we had here today in a population dense city. First let me begin by saying I dont have screenshots or videos as it was freezing outside and we just got the job done and left.A gym I raid at daily had the passes handed out last saturday for today (11/11), in a city of 5 million with dozens of gyms within walking distance. We have a very dedicated player base with lots of scanners, discords, whats app and other chats and social media groups dedicated to pogo.This particular gym is easily accessible near the center of the city at a church. Good reception in the area and lots of space to stand or even sit. Any tier 5 raid that pops up at this gym regularly has at least 2 public random groups of 20 attend. Safe to say the game is far from dead here, even with temperatures dropping below 0I actually didnt get a pass to this raid, despite raiding daily at this particular gym. Im level 40 and play daily, complete around 1-10 raids a day, most days 2-3 now. (I have 300 raids complete). However my friend, who is a very casual player (level 26) got an invite to this raid after only raiding at this gym once when he visited.Observations: - only 8 people showed up - only 30+ were 38, 39, and 31 I think - 5/8 players were below 30 - everyone there I have not seen raid regularly in the area - most people didnt know how to throw a curve ball with the resize technique - not many had or knew counters to mewtwo - 7/8 caught mewtwo - most mewtwos were 80iv - highest mewtwo was 93 iv - 2 people caught it with the very last ball - my friends phone has a messed up clock settting, its 3 hours off and the raid pass showed the exact time on his phone, so I think its safe to say the raid time always aligns with your phone time - we have a ton of spoofers in the city joining public groups regularly, none were in this ex raid as we could account for all 8 players physicallySpeculations - looks like the pool of invites was casuals - we have very dedicated players here so im guessing that maximum 10 passes were handed out this as many more would have shown Had they gotten the invite Im certainSide note Mewtwo was being finished off with 7, but an 8th showed up late so everyone jumped out to let him in! :)Maybe nothing new or surprising here in my observations, but enjoy! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2ACn27x
