"If all active players hit the 500 Pokémon catch cap yesterday, then there were AT THE VERY LEAST 600k active players on the first day of the event"

#PokemonGO: Niantic just announced that 298,159,864 Pokémon were caught on the first day of the challenge. If you combine that information with the fact that there is a maximum number of Pokémon a player can catch per day (500) we can get a lower bound on the total number of active players.Assuming every player who participated caught the daily maximum, then there were no fewer than289159864 / 500 = 596319.728players active yesterday (roughly 600k).Note that for most games an UPPER bound of 600k would be a very healthy playerbase, and in this case the player count is almost surely significantly higher since very few players likely came close to the 500 Pokémon cap. As long as the count is accurate, we can see that even with a new mainstream Pokémon game drawing attention Pokémon Go seems to be doing pretty well for itself! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2zniftJ
