"Legendary Raids have not been nerfed"

#PokemonGO: TL;DR:Raids per gym by dayMETHODS45,702 legendary raids from 1284 gyms were recorded over the period August 4, 2017 to November 8, 2017 in the Portland, OR, USA metropolitan area. Data were harvested from a local scanner discord bot, filtered, and databased. More details on these techniques upon request. Similar analyses have been carried out on L4 Raids.RESULTSShown at the link below are summary results of the legendary raids during the period:Raids per gym by dayPeriods as observed here in the Americas:Lugia + MoltresLugia + ZapdosLugia, Articuno, Moltres, ZapdosRaikouEnteiSuicuneANALYSISOverall legendary spawn rate has been remarkably consistentEven when multiple legendaries are available, a cumulative rate of 0.39+/-0.07 (95%CI) legendaries per gym per day is observed.Nearly identical quantities of different legendaries are observed over similar release periodsIn the period where all birds were available, the data for each are remarkably consistent:Lugia: 2059 Articuno: 2112 Moltres: 2092 Zapdos: 2099 This is within a percent or two.Over the duration of Raikou and Entei:Raikou: 14,002 Entei: 14,116 Legendary raid frequency has been unaffected by recent raid boss changes and DSTThe data here span the most recent raid boss rotation and time changes and appear unaffected.FINAL COMMENTSAs pointed out by u/YoungsterJason (and elsewhere), losing 1/4 of raid duration effectively nerfs apparent raid time. How this is observed varies from raider to raider, i.e. do you look at a scanner map? You would see 1/4 fewer raids on the map. Or do you rely on relayed data from other raiders? In this case, the apparently spawn rate would be the same. Anyway, certainly a point to consider in apparent raid frequency.Happy to answer more questions about the data. Lots to dig into. Have this for L4 as well. I'll get to it.EDIT: le formatting. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2AvLWWv
