"Pokemon Bank should allow for a safe, secure way to backup saved cartridge data."
Title says the TL:DR version.Seriously. In today's day and age where saved games on places like Steam, and even other consoles are taking advantage of cloud-based backup data, and some even using cloud-based saved game data in general, there is no reason today why Nintendo cannot do the same for Pokemon save data, especially considering many of us have data/pokemon that are older than 5, 10, or even 15 years. If there's any of Nintendo's games that need this the most, I'd argue it's Pokemon. If Nintendo really cared so much about discouraging players from using cheating devices like powersavs (which does more than just that, it backs up save data as well), I would like to think they would jump on including a feature like that in Bank, or even a separate program altogether. This would give people not only more reason to use the service and pay the monthly fee, but also give their players peace of mind. Also, keep in mind that I am talking about backup of data, not more storage space like Bank already does now. They are two very different things.Could it potentially be abused? Possibly. Are there bound to be glitches and problems with it from time to time? Of course. But you know what? It's a million times better than the alternative of either having no way of backing up save data, or Nintendo punishing those who do use Powersavs or other methods of backing up data, when they won't provide the service themselves, despite the fact that they are completely capable of doing so.I know I might be preaching to the choir a bit here, but it still surprises me that Nintendo has not done something like this yet, despite the fact that there has been a huge need for it for years now. What do all of you think? via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2zqEoEa
