"[SPOILER]Anyone else notice how there were less "chosen one" moments in USM?"
Its a really cliche theme and it's been in the pokemon series forever(because seriously, what 10 year old wouldn't want to feel as if they were the destined hero of their own adventure?), but I felt they lightened up just a bit in Ultra Sun and Moon compared to how Sun and Moon simply felt drenched in it.It's mainly the ending of the main story that gave me these feels though. In SM it felt as if the Pokemon League waited for you as if it just conveniently finishes being setup by the time you finish saving the world bringing Lusamine back from ultraspace. That even Kukui himself waited for you to come become champion or at least make sure he was there to challenge you. Then a little ways into the post game you're specifically requested to come assist with the capture and protection of the Ultra Beasts that are loose in your world. In Ultra Sun and Moon the league is definitely setup by the time you even start journeying towards it. It's still fresh and minty but the victory road is crawling with trainers at this point. Hau also comes into play, not really as the champion but he challenges you as another victorious challenger of the new pokemon league for the title of champion. At the start of the post game both Hau and you are requested to deal with the Ultra Beasts that are loose in your world and apparently he also catches some.It felt more balanced. Its not like you aren't the main character, the chosen one of the story anymore but it felt really overdone in Sun and Moon. Maybe this was just simply because Hau got a little more depth added to his character as well. Either way I really appreciate this. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2hS1b3O
