"How would you feel about getting a notification to tell you the starters abilities are active?"

As it is now, that starters main abilities (overgrow, torrent, and blaze) up the power of their respective types by 50% when lower than 1/3 health. This isn’t an awful ability, however the game doesn’t tell you that the abilities are active, you just have to remember. Personally, I never remember these abilities at any point during a battle, and I feel like I play through the games as if my starter didn’t have an ability.I think gamefreak should have a message pop up to tell you the abilities are now active, such as the one that comes up when an ability like intimidate is used, except in this case, it would say something like “Decidueye’s overgrow”. This would make the abilities more impactful, and would increase the value you get from them. If you fall to 1/3 health, instead of switching out, you would see that the starters ability is active, and stay in to try and KO your opponent with a powered up move. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2isJDiU
