"I really love Ultra Wormhole - it adds spice to a repeated formula"
Yeah, I get that Ultra Wormhole has its own set of problems. The controls are clunky / slow, the visuals are a bit deceptive, and more. Nonetheless, I massively appreciate it for two simple reasons that turn it into a completely unique Pokemon experience.1. You don't just fly off to some island, talk to a random NPC, or navigate through a short cave. Actually reaching a Legend is a small challenge in itself that you can enjoy. I legitimately feel like I'm earning the chance to capture it rather than it just being handed over to me by the game. I actually feel a connection to the Pokemon because there was a small adventure to relate with it.2. When trying to reach a Legendary Pokemon, it's (mostly) completely random which one you'll find. Certainly, this makes it really difficult to find the specific Pokemon that you want. Nonetheless, this creates excitement with Legend hunting! For the first time in over ten years of playing Pokemon competitively, I actually want to capture them all, if at least to thin down the stock until I encounter the one I need for my teams. While doing so, might as well get them with good stats, right? I find myself venturing through the wormhole with four different Synchronize Abras of different natures and actually training good battlers so that I can be ready for whichever I find. The result is a large collection of competitive Legends that I actually had fun capturing. No Pokemon game has gotten me do that before. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2j3ti1c
