"The biggest wasted opportunity in Ultra Sun / Ultra Moon"

If you have played USUM, you know that Zygarde is still around. This time, it's sitting in the Resolution Cave, just chillin' and waiting to be caught. But we basically have to ask ourselves the same question we already had in Sun&Moon: Why is Zygarde in Alola in the first place? In Sun&Moon, people were speculating that Zygarde sensed the immediate danger that the Ultra Beasts coming from other dimensions posed to Alola's ecosystem. I've always had my problem with this theory, because the Ultra Beasts are by far not powerful enough to change an entire ecosystem (with the possible exception of Guzzlord as we have seen in the Ultra Ruins, though I doubt that it was a single Guzzlord that caused mankind to leave the planet). But there is another more reasonable explanation for Zygarde's presence in Alola: Necrozma!Think about it: Necrozma has the capability to eat light itself! How drastically would an ecosystem be changed without a light source? Photosynthesis? Nope. No more oxygen for you I guess. And Necrozma was also present in Sun & Moon. Just like in USUM, it most likely entered Alola through an Ultra Wormhole. Only that the protagonist was fortunately faster than Necrozma and caught Solgaleo/Lunala before Necrozma could fuse with them. Zygarde was right to be there just in case shit went down. But for gods sake, WHY didn't Zygarde do ANYTHING in USUM? If the sudden absence of the light of the sun and the moon isn't enough to activate the guardian of the ecosystem, what is? Instead, as always, we have our child protagonist confront the world-devastating beast and defeat it with his team of normie Pokemon (no offense). How much cooler would it have been if for once, the protagonist didn't stand a chance against the superboss until an equally badass superboss showed up and joined you at least temporarily? It would even make sense as aside from some legendary mega evolutions, primal forms and god himself, Ultra Necrozma and Zygarde100% are the strongest entities in the Pokemon universe. This could have been an epic face-off and a justification for keeping a Gen6 legendary around for so long, but I guess Game Freak had other plans. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2BFvl2a
