"On why Charizard and Mextwo have two Megas:"

For these pokémon, they have two megas because they (the developers) had two strong possible directions to go in:Mega Charizard X is a fan favorite for a reason: most people wanted the dragon starter to be more dragon-like. I saw (and still see) people who wanted Charizard to ve changed to a dragon type all the time. Plus it's universally agreed on that black shiny Charizard is fucking rad.Mega Charizard Y is even more Charizard. Extra horns! More wings! More aerodynamic! Longer fangs! Now with 50% more Charizard!Mewtwo is similar! Mega Mewtwo X accentuates the changes from Mew in its genetics: The limbs become even more developed and powerful, the physiology becomes more malleable (stretchy arms), etc. All the things that are unique two Mewtwo are enhanced, and it becomes ever more independent of its "ancestor."Mega Mewtwo Y becomes a more exact clone of Mew: diminished almost embryonic stature, longer tail and smaller limbs, greater psychic powers. It really looks less like an evolution of Mewtwo and more like a missing link between it and Mew.What are your thoughts on this? Agree or disagree? And if more pokémon got split megas, what would you expect of them? For example, a mega Blastoise Y might have smaller cannons, but a secondary steel typing and more shell armor to give it a defensive contrast to the other mega's offensive boost!Edit just to clarify: My intention was more to explain the reasoning behind the design choices in their split megas, as opposed to why those two pokémon were chosen to have two megas. I know they got two because they are wildly popular. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2EnAGfQ
