"Spoofing is Highly Contagious!! and Niantic is to be blamed"

#PokemonGO: This is my personal story about how spoofing can be contagious. I'm taking as a reference my small community of players in a province of Thailand. We have a LINE group chat with about 100 players, 30+ of them being fairly active. At the beginning I remember spoofing being a very very small group, not so many people dared to risk their account with spoofing and their only known way of playing was the legit way.In our group we have many players over the age of 40; these were the most legit players within the community. Spoofers seemed to be mostly young players in their 20's [and they were the exception].Time passed, and people felt more confident about spoofing [since niantic never did anything against that problem. And with this swift in people's perception, more and more people appeared to be spoofing [even with their main accounts]. Their perception of risk started to dissipate as they became more confident that Niantic couldn't ban spoofers. Players that I respected for being legit players, surprised me when I realized they've started spoofing. The most legit players, those over the age of 40, started to get advice and instructions about spoofing from the younger ones. Many of these older players now not only spoof but have multi-accounts.At the beginning spoofing [in my community] was a very small group of young daredevils. Now is the norm. I can say without doubt that the big majority of my community spoof. And I was able to see the gradual change in legit players that transitioned to spoofing. The main culprit? Niantic. Niantic allowed the swift in people's perception about cheating. They allowed people to feel confident about it by taking no action against it at the beginning when the problem was relatively small. Now spoofing is a lot more acceptable than in the past. People in my group feel confident enough to even share screenshots were you can see the "joystick" of their GPS spoof applications. The older players [those over 40] are now the biggest offenders. And Niantic is to be blamed.EDIT: Changed the term 'seniors' for 'older players'. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2DDSkvV
