"[Theory] Niantic meant to make S2 cells smaller for EX raids"

#PokemonGO: Niantic has posted a blogpost with some interesting information. The qualifications for an EX eligible gym are unchanged (location in a park or sponsored) but somehow there will be more gyms with EX raids.Some theories of how that might work:more tags in OSM are considered as parks (perhaps things like forest etc)more gyms might be added in parks? (unlikely) OR what my theory is:Niantic sets the EX raids cell down to L13 or L14If this is true, more gyms will be eligible for EX raids per wave because we can only have 1 gym per cell per wave. if there are more cells, more gyms are eligible for the same wave!But this is just speculation?Yes, yes it is. My reasoning behind this theory is that it fits in the Niantic update on EX raid battles, AND it explains why in this current bugged wave, the cells changed to L10. My bet is some Niantic employee messed up the EX pass script and mistakenly thought that L10 cells are smaller than L12 cells (which..., they are not). To me it sounds totally reasonable. It's what we have come to expect from Niantic in a way.So now what?Just keep raiding those EX eligible gyms like you always have.
