"Kanto event showed how great the game could be."

#PokemonGO: Myself, my wife, and my circle of friends did what most people did when the game first released. Played it for a few months and then got uninterested.Recently I've started playing again fairly heavily, however most everyone else was uninterested in playing...until the Kanto event. Every single one of them came back and I found them playing just as much as I was, if not more. All of us riding around taking gyms, doing raids, and exploring different areas because of the variety. We didn't just need to sit in the middle of a major city, we could go hiking and find more than just pidgeys and spheals. It was insanely fun, and now it's over. Our local discord and group chats pretty much all echo the same thing, the rare/uncommon spawns are simply not high enough to keep interest. I don't think we need Charizards around every corner, but we have got to see that variety. There's 3 generations out there, we shouldn't see the same things over and over again. That's just not going to keep people playing. The reason people turned to maps and scanners was because of this. I agree that Pokemon finding scanners should not be a thing, but neither should only seeing the same 10-15 boring mons. The only relief we get from that is going into a major city, and that shouldn't be a requirement for playing the game or even a major part of it.It makes me sad because I want to see this interest continue. I want to see the community that came back stay, if not grow. We saw a glimpse of how the game could make a serious come back, and many of the changes have been fantastic. That said, they need to strike while the iron is hot. There is widespread interest in the game again after the Kanto event, make these changes to keep them interested. via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2HIbPX0
