"Made a new rule for my relax ORAS playthrough, feeling like I played Pokemon wrong since I started G/S/C"

Good day everyone,Being bored after rushing the storyline of Ultra Moon, I decided to start a new game of Alpha Saphirre, and made it a special challenge... To capture each pokemon available in an area before advancing! I know, it is not really difficult, in fact, it makes the game easier because i'm grinding more, but god, I just finished the first badge and i'm like 3hours in (ya, took 30 minutes to catch Slakoth lol).I was wondering, is it a frequent thing to do while playing pokemon? In my normal games, I only catch the pokemons species I want for my team then breed them to get a good nature/ivs, but now I feel like "gotta catch them all" take all its sense.I know I won't catch all pokemons available because lot of them are only available post game, but eh, it feels like i'm playing the game like its meant to be played, my only real fear is lacking money to buy enough balls, but I think I will be fine..I'm doing that and wondering if I played the games wrong all thoses years, was catching most of the pokemon THE THING you guys did?Anyway, I never felt so invested in a pokemon playthrough like this one, like I'm taking notes on what I must do, like now I got to evolve some more wurmples (the cutest useless bug from all gens imo) in hope to make a Dustox since my first got into Beautifly.
