"The story of the Hundo Mew - Caught 7 hours ago"

#PokemonGO: Hey everyone,So, barring somebody reporting a shiny Mew, I might be the luckiest trainer ever.https://ift.tt/2J8nL4V those interested, here is my story:In the UK, quests dropped at 9pm. Which meant by the time we got to part 3, raids were down for the night.I was up at 6am ready to continue.I'm sure everybody has noticed by now that, barring a potential shortage of magikarp candies, the ghost and ditto hunt are the hardest. As I write this at nighttime, quick PSA; ghosts spawn plenty at night. Be patient if you don't want to drive yourself mad hunting them down. From the start of my questing, I had incenses running. This yielded me a total of 2 Ghastly's over a few hours, pretty good start. Coupled this with some wild Ghastly and Shuppet finds and finished it off with 3 Sableeye raids. The Ditto was resolved somewhere in between; A friend of mine reported in our chat that he spotted one about a 40 minute walk from me. I quickly rented a YoBike (one of those mobile app unlocked bikes) and sped over, but I got there just in time to watch it despawn. Defeated, I slumped back to town, hoping to find another one. That's when I noticed an oddly suspicious 93CP rattata that kept jumping out of Great balls. I gave it a Golden Razz and oop, there it is.Once on the next quest, I immediately evolved a magikarp (have plenty of candy, live near the water) and went to a tier 4 egg that was just about to hatch. It was tyrannitar; at this point, a random raider came by hoping to take it down. The two of us wasn't enough, so I asked him to help me with gym fail grinding. As my battle with Ttar hit 100 seconds remaining, I asked the other trainer to start a new lobby. Once my battle was finished, I jumped straight into the lobby and the other trainer jumped out. We repeated this process to cut a solid 100 seconds of wait time per raid battle, I recommend doing this. After I finished the quest, some other trainers arrived and we mopped up the tyranitar nicely. This allowed me to throw about 10 pinaps at it while hitting my excellent curve ball, giving me a solid headstart into the next quest. When feeding berries to assist with catches, try to find something that a pokeball would have difficulty catching. You can use this pokemon to grind out berries; even if it runs, you still get the quest progression. A mudkip came in handy for me.I decided to wait until I could find a truck before finishing the 7th quest stage, but ran into my raid crew at a Lugia before I could. They all begged me to show them Mew, so I caved.I took my AR shots, despite them screaming "JUST CATCH IT ALREADY!" and finally threw the ball. I must admit, the first time Mew jumped out, I had a heart attack. I thought I had taken too long taking pictures and had somehow triggered it to run!I caught Mew on the third ball, and everyone gathered around me to have a look at the dex entry and moveset. One person casually said "what's the IV?""Oh, right!" I responded, and opened up CalcyIV."It's probably like 70 or somethin - " that's when I clicked on "calculate"There was a collective chain of excited screaming once we saw the 100% pop up. I was jumping around in circles myself.Way to go Niantic, you somehow made me feel like I was ten years old again. I'm alright with this! via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2pTS2eM
