"It's About Time to Fix Raids, Niantic"

#PokemonGO: 1) Raids NEED extended and universal hours. The current hours are chaotic and nonsensical. For those of you who don't know, Niantic has been currently extending raid times but, in typical Niantic fashion, they're doing everything they possibly could wrong! Some places have them extended until 9:30. Others have them extended until 8:30. The Americas don't have them extended at all! This is nothing short of TERRIBLE design and fixing this issue is SO simple that it's so embarrassing they can't get it right! Raids should go from 6 AM to 10 PM, with the first eggs of the day HATCHING (not spawning) at 6 AM and the last eggs hatching at 10 PM. While I am in completely favor of simply having raids go 24/7, I get Niantic wants some sort of curfew on it for the kiddos (even though more adults play PoGO, but I digress. In all honesty, it easily could be Nintendo forcing a curfew as well). These hours allow the best of both worlds. Players who like to raid before work and school have raids starting at 6 AM to appease them while players who prefer to do so in the evening have eggs hatching until 10 PM to please their needs.2) Tell me if this has happened to you before: you're playing Pokemon GO and a popup comes up on top of your screen: "A raid is about to begin near you". You scan the world looking for the raid only to see that you have 50 minutes before the egg even hatches. "About to begin", huh? The way things are now, raid eggs last for way too long (an hour) while raids don't last for long enough (45 minutes). Here's how it SHOULD be. Raid eggs should last for thirty minutes. That gives players time to be notified a raid is going to be happening and to get to the raid when it hatches. However, it's not extremely long like it is currently. Raids should last for an hour, essentially giving more people time to come and complete the raid after it hatches. Additionally, the fact that the overall process of a raid is shortened from 1:45 to 1:30 means more raids can potentially happen within a given day.3) This one has been beaten into the ground but it needs to be said because hopefully, if enough people say it, we'll be able to break through Niantic's thick skull. There needs to be an option to start the raid at any point (regardless if the timer is done or not) while in a private raid group. It's so annoying when the process of waiting for a raid takes significantly longer than actually doing the raid (especially in the case of Level 1s and 2s).4) The rewards system is beyond flawed. The only thing that makes or breaks how many balls you get is simply which team you are on which is a load of crap. A level 40 instinct player could do a raid with 7 level 28 mystic players. Despite the fact that the level 40 instinct player is significantly stronger in terms of Pokemon, likely did the most amount of damage out of anybody in the raid, and likely carried the team to an extent if we're talking about a level 4 or 5 raid, the instinct player gets stuck with 7-9 balls to catch the boss at best while the mystic players get 10-12 simply because a majority of the people there were mystic. This should NOT be the case in the slightest. The team you are on should NOT play this big of a role in how many balls you get to catch the raid boss. I'm fine with the team that owns the gym getting 2 extra balls to use because that's not that drastic. But everything else should be done away with. Instead, you should be able to get more balls by meeting certain qualifications. For example, the player who did the greatest amount of Super Effective charge moves would get an extra Premiere Ball for that or the player who had the Pokemon that survived the longest gets an extra ball for that. Stuff like that. That way, the amount of balls you get depends on your skill and strength as a player rather than simply what team you're on.And so ends my ideas to fix raids. via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2IwhrGQ
