"What do you think about more "weird" Pokemon evolution paths?"

I feel like a lot of cool stuff can be done with branching evolution paths, and while I think exceptionally weird ones should only be used sparingly, I think it's sad GF hasn't played around with this more. In fact, generations 5 and 6 didn't even have any branching evolutions at all. (Barring Espurr, because gender is the only factor in evolving it) Branching evolutions bring an element of choice you can have even after you've caught your Pokemon, which I find fun. You can reuse a Pokemon you love in a playthrough while still getting a new experience. Obviously, overuse of some brancing paths would lead to a dex of 100 new pokemon involving 20 families (as well as making the weird evolution paths less cool) , so these would need to be used someone sparingly. Here are two ideas I've thought of:-A line where at every stage, there are two evolution options. I.E., there are four final evolutions possible.-A converging evolution line, where two Pokemon could evolve into one common adult Pokemon (Though perhaps, it could have slightly different forms depending on which prevolution it had) The adult movepool and ability could depend on exclusive moves depending on which Pokemon evolved into it.Admittedly, there are only so many interesting scenarios you could do with this, and they could get convoluted, but I'd still like branching evolutions in general to be more common.Though, what do you think? Are you a fan of branching evolutions in general? Or are you glad they're not as common now, so that we can get more completely separate Pokemon? What do you think of more "weird" evolution paths? Be sure to comment if you have any new ideas for them, as they can be pretty cool. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2IzHE47
