"Looking at all the demo sprites brought back a random memory for me - I thought Sentret was a worm for almost the entire duration of my GSC playthrough."
Like many people, I originally played Pokemon on GBC. I didn't have anything to enhance the screen or make it brighter, and I spent a lot of time playing in half-light. The tiny pixel sprites were understandably really hard to see, and when Gold/Silver came out it was a whole line of new Pokemon that I saw for the first time in tiny, dimply-lit sprite form. So - the first time I laid eyes on a Sentret, this is what my eyes and brain resolved it into: https://ift.tt/2J46NrQ spent months thinking that Sentret was some kind of extremely gross-looking alien worm thing. I caught one and then put it in the box and left it there because it gave me the creeps. It wasn't until I was almost finished with the game that I saw some official promo art of a Sentret and realized that what I'd taken as a worm body was a tail, and what I'd thought was the head was its entire body, and I'd missed its real face entirely.Did this happen to anyone else? via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2Jc787X
