#PokemonGO: I was trading with a friend and I gave her an alolan meowth. Shortly after, I was prompted with the animation for reaching the bronze tier of the "Pilot" medal. I acquired that meowth from a gift sent to me from Australia (I live in the US) and we each received 15,000km towards the medal.I hadn't seen this posted as of yet so I'm not sure if this is common knowledge.
