"Another idea instead of level 41"

#PokemonGO: There's a lot of rumors going around about a level 41 or 42 coming. I feel that's a meaningless grind and instead should have other rewards for exp gained.Like, what if, every 1.5 million/2.5 million points , one were to get to encounter a random legendary with a small chance of pulling a shiny? Something similar could work too.That would keep people a lot more interested, than the monotonous grind from level 40 to 42, or whatever.
