"It feels like that launch summer again, and it's amazing!"
#PokemonGO: This weekend I went into the city (Belfast in Northern Ireland), and everyone was playing Pokemon Go again like launch week. Some people were finding new pokestops that weren't there at launch, and everyone was out exploring the local parks and fighting over gyms. It feels like a lot of the people who quit since launch are back playing again. You see someone walking with their phone out flicking it with their thumb and you know what's up. You see someone turn a corner with their phone out and of course there's a raid starting in that direction.I walked up to a level 3 raid just as two other guys arrived and took out their phones, and there was a moment of acknowledgement before we tore Aerodactyl a new arse. I went on a bike ride to a nearby cycle path and there were packs of kids on bikes racing between gyms like a pokemon biker gang. A guy even walked past catching the same pokemon I was yesterday while I was walking my dogs, and we chatted and swapped intel on local nests. It feels normal to be playing pokemon in public again. There are people who have been playing hardcore all this time and are now fed up with the game, level 40s with hundreds of shinies and perfect IV pokemon and who have beaten every raid a hundred times. But for those of us who stopped playing for whatever reason and are now back, it feels just like that launch summer again. There are still big problems left to fix (playing in rural areas, hatching eggs reliably on a bike, motivation decay making gyms far too easy, spoofing, etc), but I'm having a hell of a lot of fun again and felt like sharing! Is it like this where you are? via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2tWHM7y
