"31 Days Of Interesting And Random Pokemon Facts! Day 19: Swords Dance"

Swords Dance boosts your attack stat by 2 stages! When powered up with the Normal-type Z-Crystal, it becomes Z-Swords Dance, which removes any stat debuffs you were hit with before this was used.Through leveling, and not applying those who learn it at "Level 1", Zangoose can learn Swords Dance the earliest at Lv9 in Generation IV. In Pokemon Platinum or Black/White 1, the latest to learn it is Leafeon at Lv78. Thankfully, Leafeon can learn it far, far earlier in Generations VI & VII.Bibarel, who was introduced in Gen IV, couldn't learn Swords Dance until Gen VII. Likewise, Seviper from Generation III, Ariados from Generation II and Dodrio from Generation I all had to wait until Gen VII to learn it by leveling up.Random sample of Pokemon who can learn it from the TM, which it was TM03 in Generation I, then didn't exist in II or III, then brought back as TM75 for Gen IV onward: Cherrim, Sawsbuck, Exeggutor, Victreebel, Aegislash, Jumpluff, and Beartic. Now for something really bizarre...In Generation I, the Water-starter Pokemon Squirtle cannot learn it, but the other two can. In Generation II, the Fire-starter Pokemon Cyndaquil cannot learn it, but likewise, the other two can. In Generation III, the Water-starter Mudkip cannot learn it, and you guessed it, the other two can.As for Generation IV, all the starters can learn it, but for Piplup, it's the final evolution Empoleon that can learn it only. Generation V went back and kept the Fire-starter Tepig from learning it and the others can, which you'd think a Fire/Fighting could, but sadly, Tepig cannot. In Generation VI, the Grass-starter Chespin cannot, but the others can. Finally, in Generation VII, the Water-starter Poplio cannot, but the others can. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2w8H9c0
