"Toxic local community 'leaders' - Advice on next steps?"
#PokemonGO: Venting a bit so please excuse if the formatting of this post sucks, or it seems like I ramble. I tried using a throwaway since I know the people mentioned in this post frequent this sub, but trying to protect ones identity is apparently frowned upon hereLong(er) story (kinda?) short there's two players that 'lead' the local PoGo community - we'll call them Players X & Y. These two have a past dispute with a third player, whom we'll call Player A. I'm aware what the issue is, but I don't feel it's important so I'm leaving the details out. Players X & Y have used their stranglehold over the community to outcast Player A entirely. Around the time this happened, myself and a few of my friends redownloaded the game and started playing again. After hearing Player A's side of this story, we collectively decided that we wanted nothing to do with such drama and formed our own 'group'-- Just a simple Facebook chat. Not long after this new group forms, a pair of admins from Players X & Y's group, who we'll call B & C, decided to help us out for Zapdos Day. Players X&Y subsequently 'banned' them both & went as far as approaching us in public screaming in our faces. Nothing came of that encounter, as my friends and I are all fairly level headed-- We just looked at one another like "um, okay?" and carried on with our raidsFast forward to present day. The members of this new group and myself have tried to make peace with X&Y, but to no avail. For a brief while X&Y agreed to let everyone else raid as they please with no issue, so long as Players A, B, & C were excluded. Those 3 players very happily agreed to this, as to avoid spreading this issue to everyone else-- but that ended as quickly as it began. The two groups are no longer 'allowed' to raid together at all, regardless of the presence of players A, B, or C, as per Player's X & Y decree. The 3 'banned' players have now all had multiple accounts created with usernames targeting them with negative connotations. None of which are being played fairly. Some of them reach level 20+ before we even notice them for the first time. None of these account names produce a reaction - yet they continue to pop up day after day. If players A, B, or C put into a gym they'll be swiftly spoofed down & replaced with the parody accounts. If we happen to see either of these players in person, one of them has a tendency to use their size as an intimidation tactic (tall & overweight so they think they're scary) to try to stir up trouble. We've almost had physical fights break out in children's playgrounds because this person think's he has to prove how tough he is. There was one occasion where X&Y cut off Player A with their car, as they were walking, in an attempt to scare them.I've suggested players A B & C collectively file a police report of some sort & use that to get Niantic's attention-- regardless if actual charges go through (USA btw). But two of them don't agree with me & the third was brushed off due to the issue not being 'serious enough'.Any advice on next steps to take would be greatly appreciated, as Niantic has failed to acknowledge us thus far via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2Dt1Ia8
