"Game crashing constantly since Adventure Sync?"

#PokemonGO: I'm on an Iphone SE and since turning on Adventure Sync my game crashes pretty much every couple of minutes. Anyone else experiencing this? Hoping that Niantic is aware and working on a fixEdit: I'm on IOS 10.3, I refuse to update and let Apple slow down my phone. I've never really had issues before and my bootup (about 6 seconds) and gameplay is usually really smooth, so this is highly unusual for me. I don't use a Pogo + so no issue there. I tried turning background App refresh on/off as suggested, but no changes.Edit 2: The game used to crash occasionally when I opened the profile and switched over to the friends tab. Now it crashes more often randomly which I think is due to the Adventure Sync. I'm really fearing how much data I'm using by having to reboot the game constantly.
