"I think going about the new Pokémon: Detective Pikachu movie the way they are could be the start of how video game movies could work successfully"

This is a quote from my friend, the concept is his.You know, I thought it was super weird that the first live action Pokemon movie was gonna be this weird “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” remake…but when you think about it, it makes sense. It's like how marvel decided we don’t need an origin story for Spiderman, everyone already frickin’ knows what he’s about.Well everybody knows Pokemon, and with the mobile game a couple years ago, it’s in the mind of the general public more than it has been since the 90s. So they can do whatever the hell they want for a movie instead of trying to adapt a basic story from an old game boy game that wasn’t ever all that deep. That might be the secret formula for making a non-shitty video game movie. Keep the spirit of the franchise, but don’t let the letter of the franchise hold you back. Here’s hoping! via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2B46LdP
