"Runners/Bikers - this isn't the update we were hoping for"

#PokemonGO: TLDR: I ran 16km at an average of 11.5kmph with Go Plus and Adventure Sync activated and was credited 1.3km egg distance total (8%). Speed Cap appears to nullify any steps/distance achieved through synced Health apps.Firstly, I'd seen plenty of discussion today around treadmills/workplace steps etc today but nothing regarding the actual outside stuff that is heavily restricted at the moment with a 10.5kmph speed cap on egg distance - so I went out for a run to get some results. I want to make it clear that I'm by no means a fast runner. Now the hope was that using the steps data from Adventure Sync, the game might acknowledge that the player is in fact not driving a car and would credit the runner/biker with the distance that they're actually achieving.Sadly, this doesn't seem to be the case. I ran 16km at an average of 11.5kmph, dipping under 10.5kmph at times for several minutes. I ran a straight line course around park, along a straight river etc - no zig zags. The total distance credited to my 5km egg was 1.3km (presumably from the few times that I ran a bit slower through urban areas). These results are consisting with what I usually get before the introduction of Adventure Sync (10+ tests). Also important to note that my steps/distance was credited to Apple Health (25km/24,000 steps for the day), but wasn't credited to the egg (also checked an hour after finishing run). I can only conclude that the speed cap overrides and nullifies any data coming from Adventure Sync. Now I'm happy for all those excited about running on a treadmill, shaking their phone while sitting on a couch, and those who will inevitably fashion a machine to shake the phone for them (mark my words), but at this stage, Adventure Sync does nothing to assist players restricted by the implementation of speed caps.On the bright side, I did Go Plus a shiny Aron. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2RyjQSj
