"[Discussion] About wild availability"

#PokemonGO: Inspired by this post http://bit.ly/2SjgiUw and the constant complaints I read about the new egg pool and the rarity of the new babies, I feel like this topic needs to be adressed.TL;DR: Each generation has a higher percentage of pokemon locked from appearing in the wild. This takes away part of the experience and excitement of exploring and finding rare pokemon, will clutter raid pools with new generations, and mess with the odds of hatching pokemon. It is a fact that, with each new generation released, Niantc has restricted more pokémon from being available in the wild. Let's go through each one:Generation 1: only legendaries and mythicals excluded. (Amazing!)Generation 2: babies and item evolutions join legendaries and mythicals.Generation 3: Absol, Mawile, Nincada line, most final stage evolutions (even if they don't require items), babies, special evolutions (Milotic), legendaries and mythicals.Generation 4: Shinx line, Spiritomb, final stage of the starters, sinnoh stone evolutions, babies and legendaries. Plus lots of unreleased pokemon that might be wild locked too.The problem now seems pretty obvious. Each new generation makes catching wild pokemon less fresh and exciting. Remember the hunt for rares like Lapras, Hitmons, Porygon, Snorlax? The exciting amount of shadows after Gen 2 release? Those random Charizard or Dragonite encounters? We might never experience those things again, if things remain like this. Also, raid and egg odds are becoming a problem because there are too many exclusives, meaning that the odds for finding each one are a lot worse. While I agree pokemon like legendaries, mythicals or Spiritomb should remain locked from the wild, having every other pokemon in the wild would be soooooooo much more fun.Raids and eggs should remain what they were in the start: a faster and easier alternative to get high IV and rarer species. Look at Buizel, it's a great example of how to release rare pokemon. Make it a rare wild spawn, but also give players the option to get it faster and with better IV at raids. Why can't we have the same for Shinx family, Absol and Mawile? I'd love to have a chance, even if insanely low, to find them in the wild. It would make hunting a lot more exciting again. And Evolutions... that's where things really don't make sense. I can see why special evolutions like Milotic are wild locked, but why the rest? There is no reason to lock Empoleon and Swampert but not Blastoise and Feraligatr. It won't be unbalanced and let people complete the dex easy if made rare enough. I mean, events make the first stage already too common, so what's the problem with having evolutions in the wild too? A rare chance to find a very rare and strong pokemon in the wild makes the experience a lot better and I really miss that. Also, with how common and easy have Gen 2 evolution items become, why can't we have them in the wild too? People will be getting their 100% Scizors from evolving high IV Scythers anyways, having a very low chance to see a wild Scizor won't hurt anyone and make exploring fun again.Last, but definitely not least, babies. To begin with: Munchlax was available in the wild as soon as it was released in Diamond & Pearl. "Exclusive to eggs" has never been what made baby pokemon different in main series games, almost every baby pokemon can be found in the wild in some main Pokémon game. I know they are different games and don't need to share the same features, but when it's better, why not do it? Eggs could remain the only way to find them as shiny, or they could be incredibly rare in the wild, but not seeing wild Budew or Munchlax really hurts my nostalgia of playing Diamond and Pearl games, where the first one was very common in the first routes, and the second one could only be obtained in the wild and through a very tedious and hard process. So, overall, I think the game would improve a lot if most pokemon were released in the wild. It will make the game more fresh and every day could be different and unexpected, you never know which rare pokemon you will come back at home with! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://bit.ly/2CwLvOJ
