"Fantasy Life would make for an excellent Pokemon spin off game"

I have met kids who aren't as gaming literate as I was at their age but really love the world of pokemon. My younger cousin for example isn't a great reader and doesn't like seeing "pikachu hurt his friends" so their really isn't much for her in the main games. I think a great alternative would be a pokemon game styled after the critically underrated level 5 game Fantasy Life.So Fantasy Life was a really novel 3DS game where you pick from twelve "classes" known as careers. You can be a Paladin, Mercenary, Hunter, Magician, Alchemist, Cook, Miner, Woodcutter, Blacksmith, Tailor, Carpenter and Angler. Note how only 1/4 of all jobs are combat based, the rest are almost exclusively crafting and resource gathering based. There's also a great progression to it: you become a miner to get ore, you become a miner to smelt that ore then you become a paladin to use that metal for your gear- genius!Now let's throw some pokemon flavour onto that. Maybe jobs like: Police Officer, Nurse, Ranger, Safari Hunter etc. The game doesn't have to revolve around combat, instead you can just enjoy the world of pokemon. The games are really utopian, everyone seems satisfied with their jobs and their lives so it'd be interesting to actually be a part of the moving cogs of this world's society.I'll probably make a mock up of some UI stuff tomorrow via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2QyvWyE
