"PVP is going to be good for raiding and knowledge in general."
#PokemonGO: I was just thinking today "Man, all those people sitting on a bunch of dust and using level 20 legendaries in raids are going to have to invest if they want to compete". Bit of a late realisation I know, but it's probable we'll see a significant curbing of the "stardust game" where people compete on stardust accumulated and let their mons sit at level 20-30 and lean on others in 20 trainer raids. Which means PVP should hopefully drive increases in overall raid effectiveness as people work to be strong "solo" trainers.Secondly, there is no leaning on the auto select (I assume). People are going to have to learn basic effectiveness. In a lot of ways the 1500cp and 2500cp leagues are going to be harder as people won't have the legendaries to guide them both in terms of "what's good" (previously simply being legendaries was a good indicator) and the counters to use (what the raid graphics passed around said to use).So for those that aren't discouraged by the step up in difficulty from raiding, it really should be a driver of knowledge that the monthly raid counter graphics have hopefully provided a bit of a stepping stone for to make it not quite so daunting. In short, PVP will be good for a whole variety of structural gaming reasons but I'm also excited to see any knock on effect into other areas such as this and do hope that that the average strength of raid teams fielded and the knowledge with which they're structured rise. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2RFjPfJ
