"Why is Umbreon so weak compared to Espeon?"

#PokemonGO: I absolutely love Umbreon's design, especially the shiny and yet at 96%, it's just under 2K CP at level 33. Meanwhile, my 33% Espeon is happily chilling at 2500 and an 87% has almost 1K more CP, with access to faster, higher damage moves as a psychic type. They both share the same base stat total in the main series so why the love for Espeon (Vaporeon & Jolteon also have a similar setup) over Umbreon?
