"Grass Knot Breloom's Impact on the Meta [PvE & PvP]"

#PokemonGO: Link to articleIn this article I attempt to highlight the benefits of Grass Knot Breloom while also keeping things in perspective. Overall, Grass Knot is an excellent addition to Breloom's movepool, giving it some much needed power in the Grass-type department. It's objectively the greatest Grass-type DPS for PvE content (raids, gyms) but in practice it's no better or worse than the garden of "optimal" Grass-type Pokemon (i.e. FP Venusaur, A-Eggs, and Roserade). It's absolutely worth getting, but there shouldn't be any fear of missing out.In the PvP department, I'm pretty convinced that Seed Bomb is better for Breloom than Grass Knot. Being such a frail Pokemon, Breloom really needs the finesse of a low energy cost charge move to get a lot of its wins. In fact, the higher energy cost of Grass Knot was enough in some key matchups that Breloom would narrowly lose when you'd expect it to always win (and it would always win with Seed Bomb). I imagine there may be some creative/surprise team builds out there where using GK that could take advantage of its higher damage, but for the general bread of all three leagues I'm not seeing it. Bullet Seed could allow Breloom to circumvent the energy cost issue but that'd cause Breloom to be compared to Meganium, Venusaur, Ivysaur, and Sceptile opposed to other Counter users. As a Counter user, Breloom has a niche with Seed Bomb. As a Bullet Seed user, Breloom is kind of a lesser pick (from what I've seen). All in all, I side with Counter + Seed Bomb Breloom over Bullet Seed + Grass Knot for PvP. I'd like to see how it could be good or even better for Breloom, but I doubt it will be.TL;DR - Grass Knot Breloom's good for PvE, not PvP via /r/TheSilphRoad http://bit.ly/2FACSom
