"A change to raiding beneficial to players and Niantic."
#PokemonGO: Credit to u/_Jordan11_. This idea is brilliant to me and deserves it's own thread instead of a comment in a different thread.Currently we have a countdown when battling in a raid. If the countdown reaches 0, you don't get an attempt to catch the Pokemon. This means that players who are unable to form large enough groups can't attempt certain raids.Change the countdown. Make it count up with no limit. In addition to team/damage bonuses, add a speed category. The faster it's completed, the better the reward. This gives incentive for larger groups to form to try to beat it as fast as possible, making raids more inclusive, but more importantly, it allows people who can't or don't want to group up the ability to attempt raids on their own. They may get a lower reward for taking longer to complete it, but by the end they still get some chance to catch the target. Even if they don't catch the Pokemon, they'll still get the experience points so they aren't left behind in leveling up compared to other players. This is beneficial to Niantic. More people participating in raids means more raid passed sold. Low catch odds means more raid passes sold. Allowing solo/low level players to attempt raids also means more Pokemon get hurt/knocked out, increasing potion/revive sales. The only perceivable negative are people who enjoy the challenge of soloing/2-manning high level raids, they simply wouldn't get the bonus. via /r/pokemongo http://bit.ly/2MPBWhw
