"[QOL Suggestion] Add a Tall Grass texture to the Overworld to indicate Pokemon spawn points"

#PokemonGO: Recently, I was going through old pictures on my phone and found this picture from the Pokemon Go Beta circa May 2016. The shimmering purple puddle on that picture indicated an area where wild Pokemon would spawn. I believe the puddle was generated from areas where XM was found in Ingress, which isn't necessarily indicative of spawns in Pokemon Go, but is a good general indicator of high cellular activity which is correlated to where spawn points are generated. When Pokemon Go was released in July, they removed these puddles completely and instead added "rustling grass" in those areas. Niantic removed this feature shortly after launch (probably because they didn't always correlate to spawn points), but it would be nice to see a fully functional version of this feature reintroduced with a style similar to the Beta picture with a "tall grass" texture instead of the purple shimmering pool. They can have each spawn point automatically generate a grassy circle of a certain size (maybe 5 meters or so), and have spawn points that are close enough in proximity automatically connect to give a seamless connected look on the overworld, with map areas such as roads, highways, buildings, etc given a higher display priority so the grass doesn't obscure map features. This would be particularly helpful to players that might be out exploring a new park that want to choose a walking path that has a high spawn density, and would also serve the purpose of giving the map a more classic Pokemon feel. What are your thoughts? via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2HYln3g
