"Countering the Snorlax female GO Rocket grunt"
#PokemonGO: This post builds upon the Silph Road's findings for current Team GO Rocket battles. Here is a link to the full chart. So, some players are having problems with the female GO Rocket grunt (who always leads with Snorlax), who taunts with "Don't bother, I've already won", or "Winning is for winners" or "Get ready to be defeated". Thus, I've devised some good counters to her team that I hope will help you!The first time you battle her, you won't know her 2nd or 3rd Pokémon. This poses problems because the typing and the attacks of the three possible Pokémon means that there is no true counter to all three of them. However, certain counters can do well in a significant amount of scenarios.GO Rocket opponentOptimal counterAlternative counter 1Alternative counter 2Slot 1 - SnorlaxTyranitar (any Rock or Dark moves)Dialga (Dragon Breath / Iron Head)Weavile (Ice Shard / Avalanche)Slot 2 - Snorlax or Poliwrath or GardevoirDialga (Dragon Breath / Iron Head + Thunder) - weak to Rock Smash PoliwrathDragonite (Dragon Tail / Outrage) - loses to GardevoirMewtwo (Confusion / Focus Blast + Shadow Ball) - weak to Lick Snorlax, possibly GardevoirSlot 3 - Snorlax or Dragonite or GyaradosDialga (Dragon Breath / Iron Head + Thunder)Mewtwo (Psycho Cut / Ice Beam + Thunderbolt) - weak to Lick SnorlaxTyranitar (Smack Down / Stone Edge) - weak to Waterfall Gyarados, Steel Wing DragoniteCredit to u/hsun94 and u/TemporalOnline for suggesting Thunder over Draco Meteor on DialgaIf you're a player without the best counters in the table above (I'm very aware they need lots of legendary candies), you can still run a scouting team of a Snorlax counter + a Gardevoir counter + a Poliwrath counter (example, Ursaring, Scizor, Leafeon), that should theoretically get you past the first two opponent Pokemon to find out the third opponent Pokémon, then you can prepare adequately for all three opponent Pokémon.Don't fret about losing to this grunt the first time round! After losing, you should know her full team. Below are some specific counters you can prepare for her known line-up. There are also budget options in there for players who don't have legendaries or Community Day moves!Other Snorlax countersUrsaring (Counter / Close Combat)Honchkrow (Snarl / Dark Pulse or Sky Attack)Shiftry (Razor Leaf / Leaf Blade)Umbreon (Dark moves) - credit to u/333-blueLucario (Counter / Power-up Punch) - hard to obtainOther Gardevoir countersHeatran (Fire Spin / Iron Head) - legendary candies required - credit to u/Beta382Melmetal (Thunder Shock / Flash Cannon) - hard to obtain for some - credit to u/Beta382Metagross (Bullet Punch / Meteor Mash) - impossible to obtain for someJirachi (Charge Beam / Doom Desire) - impossible to obtain now for mostAggron (Iron Tail / Heavy Slam)Scizor (any / Iron Head)Other Poliwrath countersUsers of Razor Leaf (Venusaur, Roserade, Leafeon, Vileplume, Victreebel)Users of Confusion (Espeon, Alakazam, Azelf)Users of Charm (Togekiss, Gardevoir, Granbull)Giratina (any Dragon or Ghost moves) - legendary candies requiredOther Gyarados countersZapdos - (any) - legendary candies requiredRaikou - (any) - legendary candies requiredElectivire (Thunder Shock / Wild Charge)Magnezone (Spark / Wild Charge)Jolteon (Thunder Shock / Discharge)Melmetal (Thunder Shock / Rock Slide) - hard to obtain for someOther Dragonite countersMetagross (Bullet Punch / Meteor Mash) - impossible to obtain for someMagnezone (Spark / Wild Charge)Lapras (Ice moves)Aggron (Smack Down / Heavy Slam)Steelix (Dragon Tail / Heavy Slam)Melmetal (Thunder Shock / Rock Slide) - hard to obtain for someCredit to u/BigWooper for a correctionCredit to u/Nickel6558 for a great post on strategies for grunt battling, basically, charge up your charged move on an earlier Pokémon and unleash it on a later Pokémon (Tyranitar's Stone Edge charge on #1 or #2's Snorlax for hitting Slot #3, or Dialga's Iron Head or Thunder charge on #1's Snorlax for hitting Slot #2)If anyone wants to turn this into an infographic, please do! I don't have such skills. Just credit me in the infographic :) via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/33B0q6a
