"An interruption in my nightly routine and a short story of petty revenge"

#PokemonGO: First, my normal routine for some context. I work nights, and usually get home around midnight. There's a church just across the street from me, about 3 or 4 houses down. Like most churches, this one has a gym. So, on my way home, I usually park near the curb for a bit before I pull in my driveway. I'll always spin it, drop a defender if its blue, and usually don't bother taking it if it's any other color. I rarely spend more than a minute or two.​Tonight, It was already blue, with only one other defender. I decided to drop my shiny dugtrio in there to help out a lonely blaziken. I had just dropped my pokemon, spun the stop, and was starting to head home. In my rear view mirror, I see someone else pull up to the curb. "Maybe this guy's got the same routine as me?" I wondered. But why then, have I never seen this happen before? I've always been alone while doing this. I back into my driveway and watch as he starts battling my gym.​I wait for him to do two of the three battles, and remotely use a golden raspberry, just to show this guy that I won't go down without a fight. I do this two or three times, and he persists, so I cave in and let him have it. He then proceeds to drive away, the same way he came, off onto the main road and out of the neighborhood.​Excuse me buddy? You don't get to drive around through random neighborhoods at midnight with the specific intent of taking down easy, defenseless gyms. I will not stand for this.​I wait 4 or 5 minutes, enough time for him to be too far away to bother coming back. I turn off my car, take about a 45 second walk down the street, and take his snorlax out.​In its place, I leave the same shiny dugtrio as a warning.​This is my gym, and now he knows it.​​TL;DR: Dominance=asserted via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2ZB2jAu
