"This Is WHY You Protest."

I can't believe I'm saying this, but todays direct wasn't a total trainwreck. In fact, it was the complete opposite! I think the movement got through the heads at Game Freak. Now why do I say this?Returning monsNew regionsFixing textures (including the infamous trees)New formsNew Dynas/GigasMultiple ExpansionsNo yearly release announced (as of now)A new side game people have been begging forYou can claim these have been planned from the start, and that's fair. But let's remember something here: they said the dex cut was a "new company policy" and that this would be a thing for future games. That they would decide who gets in and out, and you don't get in if you are not in the dex. NOW they are doing a 180 and ADDING back 200+ pokemon, and supposedly more will be added back with later expansions. While this isn't exactly best case scenario A, this is a massive win for the franchise and community. We were asking for them to not rush the next games and to patch in these game, and they're doing that. We could be looking at a No Man's Sky situation here, and that's great! (Granted the NMS updates were free, but I digress...) Let's hope that they bring back the rest of the dex with the next expansion(s).And heck, maybe even make more. Make future expansions PAST regions instead of new ones! While it's not perfect that it's paid, I will say that it's great that they made the pokemon themselves a free expansion and you can trade them to people that DON'T have the expansions, which is more than I will say for other companies that do passes like this. And I'm very optimistic in the new director in charge of the DLC whom we haven't seen before. It seems both games get two packs of dlc, which the pokemon are interchangeable via trading or transfer...which could mean everyone could be coming home (pun not intended!)However we haven't seen anything on megas or the returning 144 moves, though we did hear about "new move tutors," so maybe that indicates they are? Who knows. All in all, this is why you protest. It's not perfect, and I'm staying cautiously optimistic, but I can see this setting Game Freak and Pokemon down a MUCH better path than it was originally heading.Edit: So much for trying to be cautiously optimistic. You people would prefer jumping down my throat instead, so have at it I guess. I'm disabling notifications. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2NcqFt1
