"Lack of visual clarity in GBL makes it impossible manage threats (Video)"
#PokemonGO: Clip: https://ift.tt/32VzI87 Melmetal with 2 Thunder Shock advantage can narrowly win against Giratina-O if you call 2 Shadow Balls correctly. Even if you only get 1 right, the matchup is much closer and you can threaten a 2-shield trade, which is still pretty good considering your opponent got to counterswitch. Thus, it is very important to keep track of his threat potential for Shadow Ball vs Ominous Wind, and this should be doable by knowing your opponent's energy. In this clip, my opponent switches in Giratina after I switch to Melmetal. There are exactly 4 Shadow Claw animations before Shadow Ball comes out, which is far from the required 7. Even generously giving him 2 extra fast attacks (one during the switch and one "animation cancel" before he launches Shadow Ball), that's still only 6, which is not enough energy. If you look at Giratina's model and count the number of times it turns to the side every time it fast attacks, that happens only 5 times, which is still short of 7.This is extremely misleading, because at this point, it should be safe to assume the opponent only has Ominous Wind available, which should not be shielded. However, it turns out Shadow Ball is already up, which makes an already difficult (but winnable) matchup impossible to manage. What if I count my own fast attacks? First of all, this is an unreliable method because it's difficult to pinpoint exactly when the opponent switches and extremely unintuitive (why am I counting my own attacks to see when my opponent has a threatening move up?) Second, even if I did count my fast attacks, there are visually only 6 Thunder Shocks by the time Giratina uses Shadow Ball. As Thunder Shock has the same duration as Shadow Claw, that's still 1 short of the necessary 7.Note that there is no visual evidence of any lag from the time Dialga switches so this is not a valid excuse for missing animations. This is super frustrating because you can't make informed decisions on when to shield when you're given the wrong information, and it might as well be unlucky lead = auto-lose.TL;DW: Fast attack visuals don't match what's actually happening in game, which is misleading at best and game-changing at worst.Animation typeNumber of fast attacks countedG: Shadow Claw4G: Fast attack (model)5M: Thunder Shock6Any of the above required to use Shadow Ball7 via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2PNmBjY
