"Shadow Pokemon power creeping their regular versions would reach whole new levels of unsustainability"
#PokemonGO: We've already seen Niantic plans to add a "shadow bonus", that would likely mean shadow Pokemon would deal more damage than their regular versions. The saving grace for all non-shadow Pokemon is that they would still be held back by how bad Frustration is, though that wouldn't really apply to Pokemon that don't really need a second charge move, such as Gardevoir and Dragonite. But now with the ability to TM away Frustration, Pokemon who are already viable(or almost viable) in PVP, such as Dragonite, Raikou, Articuno, Torterra, Gardevoir, Gyarados, Snorlax, Magnezon, Tyranitar, and Swampert(depends on how good the bonus is, since even MW Swampert kinda needs the opponent to have the fear of HC), be outclassed by their own shadow forms. We already see the power creeping of Pokemon we raided for, spent time money and other resources on, over the last 2.5 years, by their own version with an exclusive move. And this in itself kills a lot of the motivation to play this game, especially beyond casual level. But shadow Pokemon power creeping themselves would have an extra factor: 1170 candies and 1090800 stardust - to power up from level 8 to level 40, including the second move, and without the ability to save some of that by catching high levels or lucky trades. And even for lower leagues, the cost would be significantly higher than the most expensive PVP mons at the moment - a GL shadow Articuno would cost 87k stardust to power up to level 18, and 102 candies, in addition to 300K stardust and 300 candies for the additional move.If that bonus is just for raids, than it would be a niche feature almost everyone ignore, but it would be ridiculous losing to Pokemon you would need a few hardcore-player-months worth of resources to power up one of, and a lot of the resources spent over the last few weeks for GBL will become an absolute waste for anyone who tries to be competitive in this league. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2VEs4h3
