"Has there ever been a canonical reason that starters are so rare?"
It's kind of odd to me story wise that starter Pokemon, more often than not, are like these mystical Pokemon that for some odd reason or another can only be found by Professors. Uh, why? We even get to encounter legendary Pokemon in the wild, but no starters? (Yes I obviously know you can get them through trades, not my point story-wise.)Edit: Secondary point here, check out this loop of logic....1) Professor wants you to fill in Pokedex.2) Professor knows where to find starters.3) In order to complete the Pokedex, you need all the starters.4) Professor won't give you either the starter or the location of the starter.5) Whuhhhhh?! via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/3eZn6F1
