"Idea - NPC Passerby"

#PokemonGO: Do you wish there were more NPC's in the game so you didn't constantly feel like you were playing Fallout 76 on launch day? Well I have an idea for you. Introducing: passerby.Passerby would be an addition to the game that remedies a lot of problems that people bring up with the game. To meet a passerby, first you need to find one at a random Pokestop. (They would be about twice as common as Rocket grunts.) Once you do, they'll appear on the screen and give some dialogue. This dialogue can be separated into a few different categories:- Small Talk- Spare Item- Buddy Play- Battle Request- Rare Pokemon SightingSmall Talk:The most common dialogue you'll get from a passerby (around base 50% chance). This form of dialogue has no real impact on the game. Examples may include discussing the weather, a battle they had, or a Pokemon they caught that day.Spare Item:The passerby gives you a spare item from the Pokestop that they don't need, whether it be a ball, a potion, or even evolution items!Buddy Play:The passerby pets your currently set Buddy Pokemon, earning 1 heart in the process! (1 heart max. per day)Battle Request:The passerby requests to battle you, which you can accept or refuse. Winning the battle will net you some XP and 1-3 Rare Candy, with the possibility of a TM or a Sinnoh/Unova Stone!Rare Pokemon Sighting:The rarest dialogue you can get, and by far the most exciting. The passerby will inform you of a rare Pokemon they sighted at a different Pokestop. They will not name the Pokestop, however they will tell you the description, and from there you'll have to find the corresponding Stop and travel there.A task will be added to the Today tab, and progresses through multiple steps:Upon receiving the task:Step 1: (Rare Pokemon Sighting) Find the Pokestop with the description: (Pokestop description)Once the stop is found and identified:Step 2: (Rare Pokemon Sighting) Travel to (Pokestop name)When you've arrived at the stop:Step 3: (Rare Pokemon Sighting) Catch (Pokemon name)! The rare Pokemon will not be visible on the Nearby list and thus you must go through the steps to find the stop.Once you've arrived, it's time to catch the Pokemon! The encounter pool includes, but is not limited to:- Beldum- Gible- Deino- Axew- Noibat- Sandile- Pawniard- And even the insanely rare Unown. This rare Pokemon will be local to your device, meaning if others get the same task from the passerby they won't be guaranteed to get the same Pokemon species as you.Social Butterfly Badge:Every time you encounter a passerby, you'll gain 1 tick on the Social Butterfly badge progress bar. After meeting enough passerby on your travels, you'll unlock the badge! This badge reduces the odds of Small Talk by 10% per level and disperses it to the other four events proportional to their own odds.Pros and Cons of this additionPros:+ Rarer items such as Sinnoh/Unova stones are more accessible+ Rarer Pokemon are more accessible instead of being stupidly rare+ Makes the game seem less devoid of people other than Willow, the team leaders, and Go Rocket+ A new badge to flexCons:- May be tedious for players who are low on items and just want to spin StopsLet me know what you think of this idea, feedback is much appreciated! via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2NboCbI
