"I changed my starter buddy for the first time"

#PokemonGO: I played sporadically in 2016, but got back into pogo last summer and still had my starter Squirtle as my buddy from some point, and I've just been keeping him around since then. It was nice to have the buddy bounce and so I never felt the immediate need to switch buddies since I wasn't desperate for the mythical quests. However, recently Galarian Slowbro and its gun released and I wanted it, and so I had to move on for now.
